At last I’m back in South Africa and feeling fairly recovered. Had a few close calls with the RWC site this week-end, but it seems to be steaming on and ticking over.

The day has come to pack up and go back home! Just wrapping up some things at the office, and then it is off to SFO to start the long journey back to South Africa.

In the past week a lot has been said about a certain beauty queen’s remarks during a pageant.
From ivo.co.za: “This babe gets it. She’s going to edgercate America and get everyone a map and help South Africa and Eyeraq and stuff. At least, I think that’s what she said. She speaks a little high-faluting for me, but then, I’m not as smart as Miss South Carolina.“
You could also join the ever growing group in Facebook called “South Africans for Miss South Carolina“. The poor soul needs all the help she can get.

Just to keep the blogging alive I’ve decided to put up a new blog for when I return home to South Africa. I’ll start updating it soon – but for those nosy parkers around you can at least take a look at the Johannesburg city skyline so long. Just hop over to “Eon in South Africa“.

And just as I’m about to go back to South Africa, Ugly Betty season 2 starts here in the states. Oh well, guess I’ll have to wait for it to start in South Africa in a few months.

While visiting with friends in Houston (TX) we went for lunch to a charming bar called “The Flying Saucer”. They have a plethora of beers on tap, and if you are an avid beer drinker it is a definite must see/taste. You can read more about this place right here.

A very handy tool is to have your IP address looked up from behind your company firewall. Most of us know about WhatIsMyIP, but now a bunch of geeks came up with MoanMyIP. Be careful when doing that – sound required.
