Snow!?

I don’t believe it! Just when I’m not in Johannesburg it decides to snow for the first time since 1981!

And then we marched!

What an absolutely amazing day. Took off from the hotel to catch a train to the city. Met up with some people who were on their way to the parade on the train, and hung out with them for a bit.

Then there was a lesbian couple that got married, and also check out the most handsome cops. For all the pictures just click here. I definitely want to come back next year to see it again.

Laundry

Now this is not a sight I’m used to. I didn’t know how to fix the pants so they don’t look all crumpled up. I miss my “Mary”……

Call it colonial – but I’m just not used to doing my own laundry and ironing (the worst part). Took me 30 minutes to figure out how to do 2 shirts and a pair of jeans.

Crazy planes and vermin!

Now if only Ian was here – he would have loved the air show today. There were these helicopters with a huge flag under it (phone camera not too good – sorry).

And then there was this airplane that I thought was on fire – but it was doing a show with flames and stuff. Very scary!

And then of course the hectic scary North American Nut Eater – vermin!!! Very cute!

Good things (Part 1)

1. Cars stop for pedestrians.

2. They ask you for your ID when you buy booze (this will also be under bad things part 1).

3. Lots of TV channels, and cable in the hotel.

4. You can turn right at a red traffic light if the traffic is clear. (How many dead taxi’s do you see?)

5. Free Internet (this should have been #1).

6. Pet friendly hotels (there is a cute cat living next door).

Pride week-end next week

Found out yesterday that next week-end is pride week-end in SF. Will definitely be there and report back.
